She was a lawyer from Brno who became one of the OSS's most effective weapons — without ever firing a shot.

Barbara Lauwers joined the U.S. Army the same day she became an American citizen in 1943, and was quietly pulled into the OSS. Fluent in German, English, Czech, Slovak and French, she worked in Morale Operations — the branch that made "black" propaganda to crush the enemy's spirit.

Her signature was Operation Sauerkraut: after the failed 1944 plot to kill Hitler, she interviewed German prisoners of war, hand-picked the dissidents, gave them new identities, and sent them back across the front lines in German uniforms to scatter rumors, fake orders and leaflets about unrest in the German high command. The operation worked so well it ran for the rest of the war.

She also invented the League of Lonely War Women — a leaflet campaign promising German soldiers a girlfriend on leave if they wore a paper heart pinned to their lapel, all to sow doubt that their wives and sweethearts back home were being unfaithful. The trick was so believable an American newspaper reported it as fact.

Her most successful mission convinced 600 Czech and Slovak soldiers forced into German service to cross the front lines into Allied territory — many still carrying her leaflets. For it she earned the Bronze Star in 1945.

The artwork is a stylised tribute — the paper heart of the League, a love symbol turned into a weapon. It is not a portrait.

Heavyweight 6.1 oz/yd² (206.8 g/m²), 100% ring-spun US cotton, pre-shrunk, relaxed fit, double-needle stitched with no side seams and a sewn-in label. Sizes S–4XL. Printed on the front at 300 DPI; plain back. The main artwork prints at 10 × 10 in and the QR at 1.8 × 1.8 in.

Care: machine wash cold, inside out, with like colours. Tumble dry low. Do not iron directly on the printed area.
